The Cognitive Sensations App is a platform for immersive and innovative artistic projects, artworks and exhibitions, that raise critical awareness about the technologies of our time.

Through the app users will interact with virtual worlds and environments, engaging with artistic content that questions the ethical, social and cognitive relationship that connects humans and machines.

Each project will link to a wider curatorial programme by Cognitive Sensations, comprising events, artworks, immersive experiences and educational talks. The app will offer an immersive and experiential pathway to exploring the themes behind our work, enabling audiences to interact with newly released pioneering digital artworks from anywhere in the world — our whole programme, in your pocket.

A Questionable Companionship

A Questionable Companionship is an experiential Augmented Reality exhibition by Ash//Ella observing the life and existence of worms, and their symbiotic relationship with their environment. Through eight immersive and playful videos, these humble creatures become a metaphor into thinking about technology as a living, growing extension of the complex human ecosystem. 

Through this app, audiences can bring video content to life by interacting with a series of images in a location of their choosing. 

Instructions

1. Print prompts (click here to download).
   

2. Download the Cognitive Sensations App.

3. Take a trip to a location of your choosing and use the glue dots to position the prompts.

4. Be as creative as you like. Is it a private or public space? Are you surrounded by nature? Who will you invite to your exhibition?

5. Activate A Questionable Companionship in the app and position in front of prompts in landscape mode. For best results wear headphones.

6. Take photos of your exhibition and share!
