About

Cognitive Sensations was an ongoing project exploring the technologies of our time through writing, art, and science. It was established by Gabriella Warren-Smith in 2018 as a public programme investigating the neurological effects of technology. The project grew as a Community Interest Company, delivering programmes such as ‘The Downloadable Brain’ and ‘Curating on the Web’, finalising its activity in 2022.

Cognitive Sensations’ mission was to question the ethical, social and cognitive relationship that connects humans and technology in this ever-changing digital landscape. They worked with multidisciplinary practitioners and high-class researchers to produce events, artworks, immersive experiences and educational talks.

Through these thoughtful and provoking curatorial programmes, Cognitive Sensations enables audiences to think critically about their relationship with technology, and its impact on society.
